Welcome Address

Dear Colleagues,

The Organising and Scientific Committee in collaboration with the Greek Society of Coloproctology would like to welcome you to the 7th Biennial Congress of the MSCP, which is being held at Makedonia Palace Hotel in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 22-24 April, 2010.

The Mediterranean Society of Coloproctology (MSCP) - www.mscp-online.org - was established in Rome in March, 1998 aimed at promoting our specialty in all the Mediterranean countries.

We have planned a very stimulating scientific program, covering all the latest research projects and clinical practice in the field of colorectal surgery. The Congress will provide a forum for interdisciplinary discussion as well as the sharing of ideas on the most recent developments in colorectal surgery. Issues relating to conventional versus laparoscopic surgery, or new techniques and trends in surgical practice will also be addressed during sessions and lectures.

The participants will have the opportunity to visit the monuments of Thessaloniki as well as to experience contemporary Greek culture.

We hope that this Congress will constitute the beginning of a close collaboration among all delegates.

We believe that the scientific program, which will include worldwide distinguished speakers, in combination with the traditional Greek hospitality, will make this Congress a rewarding and unforgettable experience.
